                            Monthly meetings are the third Wednesday, September - November, March - May, 7:30 p.m.
                                       Meetings are open to the public.  Admission to all meetings and events is free.
                     Meetings are at The Sturgeon House, 4302 Avonia Road (Route 98) in Fairview unless otherwise noted.

The Sturgeon House will open for the spring season with the following meeting schedule: 

 

  Wednesday, March 21, 2012 - Jerry Skrzypczk, President of Save Our Native Species (SONS) of Erie, will present

  the History of Fishing in Erie

 

  Wednesday, April 18, 2012 - Frank and Margaret D'Aurora, Reenactors, will be dressed as fur traders of the French and Indian War

  era and will talk about fur trading in the area.

 

  Wednesday, May 16, 2012 - J. Howard Wright, Associate Pastor of the First United Methoidst Church, is a regular speaker at the

  Erie Maritime Museum and will talk about the War of 1812.

SUMMER EXHIBIT

FISHING AND FISHERMEN OF FAIRVIEW

        This summer's exhibit will open on Memorial Weekend - Sunday, Noon to 4 p.m., Monday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will continue on Sundays through the summer, 1 to 4 p.m. through August 5 or 12 (TBA).  The exhibit will include artifacts as well as many photos of this once important industry in Fairview.

 

New memberships and membership renewals for 2012 are due.  We are an all-volunteer non-profit organization

with the purpose of saving and providing history for our citizens, our community, our country.  You are invited to come join us.
