                                                    What's happening here?

At last, the renovations have begun on the second floor of the historic Sturgeon House.  Our volunteers have moved their tools and equipment into place, supplies have been delivered and they are raring to go!

Keep watching our progress!

The studs are place on the east wall. The team breaks for lunch.
Placing the studs on the west wall. The next three photos were posted on June 1, 2011. Everything is measured again and again.
Oh, joy! It all fits! The ladies bring lunch. Today it's Isabel's turn. The team worked outside in the summer.  The next five photos  were posted on October 31, 2011.
The second floor gets a new thermal window. Rich and J.R. make the final fittings. The old window is on the left, the new one on the right.
It looks pretty good from here! Best of all, the new window doesn't change the facade! Note:   the photo on the left was taken  on October 15, 2011.  The one in the middle was taken about five years ago.  The new window looks  good.
The crew worked on December 10th for the last time this year.  They begin again early in January. They are pretty pleased with their progress. The beams are going up, making a shell within the second floor.
The photo on the left shows the progress made on the new ceiling.  The next five show the team moving the framing for the south wall (common wall with the office on the second floor). The photos were taken on February 11th (please disregard the date shown on each  photo).
